  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

    The next instalment of the highly successful first person shooter is back for new gen optimisation from Sledgehammer Games and Activision.

    The basic premiss behind the new game is a catapult into the future of gaming set in the year 2054 whereby private military corporations control the world. In these times there is an instability in the global infrastructure and you have been called in solve the problem with the help of cutting edge technology.

  • Microsoft To Release The Xbox One Without Kinect

    As part of a new strategy, Microsoft have announced they will be releasing the Xbox One console without the Kinect. As part of their original strategy they where adamant that this was never going to be a consideration. Especially as over 80% of Xbox One owners actively use the over 120 different gesture and voice controls on a daily basis.

    Microsoft are looking to sell this bundle at around $399 which is a fraction cheaper than their newly dubbed “premium bundle”. Even though the Kinect is still an integral part of Micorsoft’s overall Xbox vision but will be offering the next gen console without one. This may be in response to the PS4 doing exceptionally well since release.

    Don’t worry you wont be penalised for not having a Kinect as Xbox will also provide Kinects for retail should you choose to purchase one at a later date. It has been said that this was in response to customer requests.

  • OUYA Gaming System

    ouya3OUYA is a brand new gaming system developed for a new wave of Android home gaming. Focused on the TV experience with its own signature controller (that seems to have taken inspiration from the Playstation controllers), OUYA looks to take a slice of the gaming market.

    Some may be sceptical about this new console that has come relatively out of the blue. It was a crowd funded project via Kickstart that managed to rack up a whopping $8 million for its development then was plagued with setbacks after implementation.

    The console has now his the market with ranges of $99 to $129, which for a console is relative inexpensive considering the new next gen consoles are going for more than double that.

    The great thing about OUYA is that it is an open development console. Using Android as its foundation software it is free to create games and encouraged. There is no need to purchase expensive development licenses and there is a scope for you to make the “next big thing” in the Android gaming world. Not only are there over 750 games and counting, they are also ALL free to try and available to buy.

    OUYA is full 1080p HD gaming and comes with loads of apps for Movies, Music and TV Shows too. It can be connected to the internet via Ethernet or by Wifi to experience its full functionality.

  • Lego Games are everywhere

    In the charts there are currently 4 Lego games that are right 4! There’s the chart topping The Lego Movie Videogame, there’s Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

    This can be seen as both good and bad news for Lego fans because they have plenty of options but they may not know which game to pick first. Lego games have always proven to be popular and it all came after the first Lego Starwars game, but it can work for any major film and Lego Harry Potter proved that.

    Lego games don’t take themselves too seriously and they’re just built for fun, and perhaps why they’re becoming extremely popular with plenty of big hits out there for next gen consoles.
