    Oxenfree The Supernatural Adventure game

Earlier in the year Steam released a Supernatural adventure game called Oxenfree, it’s not like any indie game you would have played before unless of course you have already played it. It’s more of a weird amalgamation of elements from 1980’s teenage horror classics, such as poltergeist, goosebumps, and more.

You play as Alex who travels to Edwards island with her new stepbrother, and a group of friends as part of a college seniors tradition, for an overnight party. Nothing bad has happened on the island before, and it’s only when start nosing around and discover a ghost rift and unwittingly open it unleashing unimaginable horrors; the gate is something left over from the Islands cryptic past, from when it was used as a military base.

Together you have to deal with weird events, your peers, ominous creatures as you navigate the game to solve mystery’s about the games dark past; how you play the game and solve the mysteries is up to you though.

The game is also coming soon to PS4, which is promising to have more game-play than the steam version, and even alternate endings and new scenes added to the game, so keeps your eyes open for this in the days to come.

  • UFC2 The Most Exciting Fighting Game of The Year.

UFC2 The Most Exciting Fighting Game of The Year.

EA Sports UFC 2 is a mixed martial arts fighting video game with a fight mode for every fan, with real life animations.

The game’s artificial intelligence enables a realistic element to the game, where different player strategies are accommodated during game play; there is a full body deformation effect included within the game, which simulates the effects of attacks on the body of the opponent and the movements of the character attacking. When you play defence the realistic fight effects and movements, offer greater control over your fighter and their head movements so you can dodge and slip incoming attacks smoothly, even block and par with your opponent

Unlike the previous UFC game, a new Knockout Physics System allows players to knock out opponents dynamically based on finishing hits’ momentum and strength.

Players can also create custom events, custom players and even their own team, and compete against various fighters with the new improved fighter roster, with more fighters and events than before.

  • Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition

Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition

It’s another zombie game, and these have been worn down and became tiring over the years, same old predictable story lines that were hard to follow and the game play was choppy and moving from one place to another in the game was loose and confusing.

Dying Light seems to have moved away from that and has opened up the game to a whole new set of vast environments and provided the player with a customisable buggy to help you move around from place to place as you navigate the vast landscapes; you can run down zombies with it too, and it just makes it easier and a more fun way to kill them.

There will be places like farms, beaches, caves, industrial areas and even grave yards that the player can travel to.

A crossbow with four different types of bolts is available, from normal, toxic, impact, and stun; this is a great way to stealthily take out biters without drawing attention to yourself and alerting the horde to where you are.

Be aware of the volatile creatures that only come out at night, these suckers hide in caves during the day and hunt at night, they are lethal and will take you down immediately if you’re not paying attention; you can go to the caves where the volatile creatures are, but best to go at night and thin the herd, as during the day the caves will be teaming with them.

The game should have been released on February 9th 2016, and is waiting to be played, so what are you waiting for…

  • No Man’s Sky; The game for 2016

No Man’s Sky; The game for 2016

No Man’s Sky will take gaming to the next level; moving away from randomly generated environments to procedurally generated environments that are generated around players as each user plays the game their way, wherever they go. Players may cross paths with other players who are sharing the same space in the vast seemingly infinite universe on their own individual quests; though each player starts off in their own solar system, and moves closer to each other as they head towards the centre of the universe.

Each player will be able to explore the infinite galaxy and make and adventure or discovery their own. When competing with other players, you can be the first player to discover a new species as you explore the vast universe, and you will always be able to discover something others have not, because of the vast endless universe of over 18 quintillion planets.

You can name the creatures you discover and also kill them when you find them, but they may be permanently destroyed for that world if you do; each creature created has a base model, and there are several categories for those creatures, and using maths the creatures can be morphed into different variations of the same base model for any particular planet. All the terrain is also procedurally generated the moment a player discovers that world and the level of detail increases the closer they get to the surface of that planet; everything is thrown away and destroyed the moment you move away from it as the level of detail becomes less and less for that place. Though it is all regenerated and materialised around the player exactly the same as it was before when they were last there.

So some pretty exciting stuff ahead, and to add to that the game has secrets that are waiting to be found…

  • Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition

Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition

Here we go. I have not always been the biggest fan of CRPGs over the years – the combat, specifically the real time with pause aspects, never quite sat well with me. Then Divinity: Original Sin happened. The game might not have the heavy story and in depth lore of something like Planescape: Torment or the Baldur’s Gate series – but it is extremely light hearted, gorgeous and with glorious music to tie the whole thing together. It also has the best combat of any CRPG I have ever played.

I played the game through with a friend before the “Enhanced Edition” was announced. A free upgrade to everyone who owned the first game. I was so excited, but I have not had much chance to play it since the launch – though I am looking to rectify that soon. The best has just got better – and I cannot wait to dive in properly.
